Emailing a file using the Mail() function?

OK, so is there a way to this?

I have an issue where I want to email the contents of a search to an address. Is there a way to output the contents of a variable into an actual file and then email that file?

Just point me in a direction, if this can be done.

You need to create multi-part mime content. You can either search on that and mess around with a bunch of code, or you can use something like PHPMailer which has built-in methods for such things.
