A programming language takes input (code) and turns it into output. The only way to learn how to program is to look at something that has already been written.

If you can see ALL of the input and ALL of the output, you can figure out the rest. My suggestion is to study code snippets you can find on many websites: look at each line and try to figure out how it affects the output you get. Mess around with the code and try to see how it changes the output.

it is very easy tutorial to follow even if u have no programming experience of any sort...

for testing your finished codes, u need PHP + MySQL, download and install WAMP from http://www.en.wampserver.com/download.php

I started on my quest to learn PHP a little less than a year ago, and this book helped me out tremendously. It explains things well and has some code examples it walks you through, I have covered pretty much everything in the book now but still refer to it when I get confused on basic syntax.

It also helps to make sure you type everything yourself. It is too easy to copy and paste everyones code, but if you force yourself to type it, you will learn it more efficiently. Once you learn something and you know it, then start copying those things from open source code if that is what you are using.
