Line breaks in $message

Hi, I am trying to make a line break in the message of a form (dont want them to be HTML format).

heres my code

$message = "Dear *invitees name* \n \n \n

This is an invitation to you from *Inviters name* to join them at the newest exciting online ambulance forum dedicated to xxx at http://www.xxxx[INDENT][/INDENT].com

xxx.com Staff

echo $message;

the output i get is

Dear invitees name This is an invitation to you from Inviters name to join them at the newest exciting online ambulance forum dedicated to New Zealand at xxxxxx.com More Message; we look forward to seeing you there. Kind Regards xxxx.com Staff -------------------------------------------------------------------------

While what I really want is

Dear invitees name

This is an invitation to you from Inviters name to join them at the newest exciting online ambulance forum dedicated to xxxx at http://www.xxxx.com

I tried /n inside the code but doesnt seem to be working

If you are printing that message in browser, you have to put it inside <pre> tags to see the newlines:

echo '<pre>'.$message.'</pre>';
