Hi! Im totally new and dont know how to set up MySQL

Hey everybody, im trying to learn PHP and all that good stuff now.
I download apache and php, and started testing out php scripts.

Now, i want to move on to databases, so i downloaded mysql and mysql query browser. Unforunately, i have no idea what to do next. I dunno how to connect the php and apache to MySql. When i start mysql query broswer, it asks for a server host, which i put in localhost, and then it asks for a user name and pw. But i dont remember putting in a user name or pw.

As you can tell, im very confused. Where are the data table located? I def. appreicate some help.. thanks

What operating system do you use, and how did you install MySQL?

i use windows (not 64), and installed it from mysql's website, the zip file

change to the mysql db, type:
use mysql;

See all tables within db, type:
show tables;

look at a particular table's columns and settings, like db, type:
describe db;
