\r\n mail problem

I'm getting \r\n instead of linebreaks in my mail-messages while using the mail() function, been trying to use nl2br but it doesn't help. Anyone have a clue what the problem might be?

$headers .= 'Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1"' . "\n";
$headers .= 'From:  '.$namn.' <'.$mail.'>' . "\n";
$headers .= 'To: [e-mail]' . "\n";
$headers .= 'Reply-To: '.$mail . "\n";
$headers .= 'X-Priority: 3' . "\n"; 
$headers .= 'X-MSMail-Priority: Normal' . "\n"; 
$headers .= 'X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2800.1409' . "\n"; 
$headers .= 'X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1409' . "\r\n";

mail($to, $subject, nl2br($smessage), $headers);

Allright, found the problem, I was using

$message = htmlentities(mysql_real_escape_string($_POST["message"], $db));

which obviously didn't give me a good format of the variable.
