I've been reading about WSDL. I'm not very good at deciphering those technical manifestos at w3.org, but my suspicion is that wsdl is supposed to define and and describe how to access functionality that is independent of the platform. Is that correct?
The context here is that some company providing data services has published a WSDL file describing their service. Their shop's offerings are all .NET and visual studio type stuff. The debate is whether one could access this WSDL service using NuSoap or Pear::Soap. I would just call them and ask directly but there's a bit of a political situation.
