[RESOLVED] need help setting timezone..

Hey guys.. I am in the midst of adding the date_default_timezone_set() function to my pages to accurately set the appropriate zone.

Looking at the americas listing found here:

http://us3.php.net/manual/en/timezones.america.php

What would be the closest setting for San Fransico? (as I believe that is where my online hosting provider is located) 😕

America/Los_Angeles is the same time zone as San Francisco (US/Pacific)

Thanks illzz.. I was pondering on either LA or Vancouver... but I suppose from a standpoint of pacific time zones.. perhaps I'm splitting hairs here.

I always wondered the if there was a difference between the 2, but never looked into it. I'm in the Seattle area, so I'm between them, but just always use LA.

I just did a quick google search and came across this. So apparently, there is no difference between them.

Thanks again illzz.. I suppose it would not have mattered had I chosen LA or Vancouver. It was once you mentioned 'Pacific' in your last post, I realised I was only looking at cities and which one closest related..

But so long as the place chosen is with a hop, jump and a stone's throw, it wouldn't matter anyway :rolleyes:

as long as that hop, jump, and stone's throw doesn't get you ending up into another timezone :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: some people can jump pretty far, haha :rolleyes:
