GD library has a problem with transparency?

Hello,

I have a script that loads an image and outputs it. Simple enough, but there's a problem. The image is circular, and the part the surrounds the circle is transparent. It's saved as a PNG format.

Whenever the PHP script outputs it to the screen, it doesn't appear as a transparent background, it appears black. I don't know why this is, but can anybody help me?

What browser (and version) are you using to view the image?

I'm using Internet Explorer 7. I also tried using Firefox 3, but it didn't work as well.
