Configuration File (php.ini) Path C:\WINDOWS

When I open the page that contains the following code:

phpinfo();
?>

I see Configuration File (php.ini) Path 	C:\WINDOWS. I do not have php.ini in C:\WINDOWS. However, I also see the following:
Loaded Configuration File 	F:\webserver\php\php.ini

I am not sure why a file that does not exist in C:\WINDOWS will be listed above.

Your help is very much appreciated.

If it shows that it loaded the correct .ini file, you can simply ignore the "path", commonly set to %windir% on Windows machines. My personal installation of PHP5 (via the CGI binary method, I might note) also shows my Windows directory at the default "path", though it loads the correct file.

First I downloaded and installed using PHP 5.2.6 installer. I then uninstalled using add/remove programs it immediately. I then downloaded PHP 5.2.6 zip package and unzipped it to a php folder.

What may be happening is that the first install did leave something in the registery. I am not sure how to remove it. It is creating a problem for me not to install pear.

check your PATH by typing in the command prompt "cmd" if it is included on path...edit the path right click your my computer -> advanced -> Environment variables.
