windows installer package error

there is a problem with this windows installer package. a script required for this install to complete could not run. contact your support personnel or package vendor

that is the error when i use the second one under windows binaries: http://www.php.net/downloads.php (link to the DL place)

i was setting the thing up fine and when i clicked install it stopped before the progress bar went all the way and that alert box pops up.

Is it just a bad package or what becuase i can't figure how to get it working at all...

I would personally recommend ditching the installer and just installing PHP manually using the .zip package. There's the PHP manual ([man]install.windows[/man]) and a sticky (assuming you're using Apache) to guide you through that.
