posting sizes from a webshop to DB_best pracsis ?

Hi,
I am looking for the best way to specify some sizes, and then post the amount of each size to a db, and then retrieve it for a costumer to choose from, can't really think of how its dont-- any ideas ?

Example
For instance, specify sizes: s, m, l, xl, xxl
and how many of each, s = 10, m = 10, l = 20, xxl = 11

I would think, barring any other constraints/requirements, you could have an "item_size" table that relates to the "item" table. The "item" table would define everything about each item not related to size and inventory, then the "item_size" table would be something like:

item_size_id (int, auto-increment, primary key)
item_id      (int, foreign key to item table)
item_size    (enumeration?)
inventory    (int)
price        (decimal) -- assuming price might vary by size?
