Need HELP with PHP code

Hi:

I'm new to PHP.
I know HTML, and a little java, but thats all.

I'm trying to make it so, when someone clicks "Download MP3", two actions occur:

1) I receive an email with the form input information (Email Address)

2) They instantly start downloading an MP3

I'd also be curious how to set it up so they would have to enter a "Code" in order to receive the Free MP3. Each code would be unique and a one-time use.

Can anyone please help me asap!!!

Use a PHP file to send the email and then after that return the file. See the PHP doc on header for examples of how to return a file (they demo a pdf).

through the simple mail() function...

Here's a simple code :

I've found a code that allows users to input info and they then receive an email, and I receive an email with their info.

What I need now is a code that makes an MP3 immediately download as a page is loading...

is this an echo code or a pass through?

You'd want to do something along the lines of:

header(''); // whatever format needs to be put here for mime-type mp3, dunno offhand
$mp3 = file_get_contents('path/to/your/mp3.mp3');
echo $mp3;
exit();

Something that that would have their browser take it as a download, then you echo out the contents of the mp3 file and it should have them download it just fine. I've never done it with an mp3 file before, but something along those lines is what you want.

I searched for a tutorial for you on a site I frequent when learning new things. This site has over 1100 tutorials on it and is one of my top bookmarks.

This tutorial is on creating a captcha which stands for "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart" I think this is what you were referring to by having a user inputted code prior to form submission:
