How did you get this number? It isn't a UNIX time stamp.
The first part seem to be year, month and day.
But the rest doesn't make sense:
20080724080649 = 2008/07/24 080649
In other words, store your data in a proper format (e.g. a DATETIME column) and then you have nifty functions like MySQL's DATE_FORMAT() to use.
