modular construction of secure login..

I don't even know if this is possible. I'm investigating creating a secure login section for a website, as I have 2 projects I'm working on that would benefit from it. I'm wondering if it is possible and/or feasible to code the guts of the login area in modules that can be included into other projects. When I want to create a new login, I could include the modules necessary, rather than manually doing this fro each page.

Can it be done? Any examples that I might be able to review? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it certainly is possible. Before any suggestions can be made though, it would be good to have some idea of your PHP knowledge. Do you have a good grasp of object oriented programming in PHP, for example?

I'm fairly new to programming in general. I am comfortable with HTML/XTHML and I am learning PHP to get started with dynamic web programming. I am comfortable with the concepts involved with OOP, and have done several small projects in Python.

I have several books on PHP I'm using as well as various resources online to help me learn as I go along.

Perhaps I'm getting ahead of myself. I'll continue learning by doing, and when I have a better understanding, I'll try asking this again perhaps.
