Suggestion for a strategy needed

I have someone who could become a client if I can come up with a solution to his problem. He stated his problem as follows:

He charters trips on his boat; his web site contains a page of his current calendar of activities. He is constantly getting emails for requests for trips and is constantly juggling his schedule in his Outlook Express calendar. He wants to be able to up
load his Outlook Express calendar to his webpage calendar in a seamless, easy
process. He wants to avoid having to go into his web page and type in all the details of his activities that he has set up in the outlook calendar.

I much appreciate any suggestions.

I believe it's possible to export your Outlook calendar events into a CSV file. It should then be relatively easy to set up an upload form the client would use to send that CSV file to the server, where PHP could read it (see the [man]fgetcsv[/man] function), and then load it into the database. The main work would be deciphering the content of that CSV file and coming up with an appropriate database design in which to store that info.

I'm about to start a calendar project, and I think you can also use the iCal format. Google "iCal with php" as it might be right up your street.
