get the id of a radio button posted

how can I get the id of a radio button that has been posted? The name will be different than the id, but the way I understand $_POST is that it gets the name attribute of the input. How can I get the id?

You can't; the ID attribute isn't meant to be used for forms, so it's not sent at all.

$POST[] is an array. $POST['name'] is the key for some data in the array. The form submit button creats the arrays keys and data. The id is never passed.

The best think I can suggest is to make hidden input fields in the form and pass the id's that way.

But may I ask why you need the id's. As I suspect there may be an easier way to do what it is your doing with a bit more information.
