[RESOLVED] how to send mail using php form

hi everyone

i m using the below mentioned script for enquiry form on my clients site. this script works well and my client receives the query when someone fills the form.
but my client wants that when the visitor on his site fills the equiry form, then the visitor should also receive a confirmation mail that we have received your query.

what should be added in the below script.

You already ask for the visitors email address, just add a bcc to the headers or send another email (call mail again)

Also, since the user can inject headers into your $headers variable, make sure you filter it to avoid making your form a spammers paradise. Here's more info.

thanks for the reply. but can u tel me how wil i define the email adress of the visitor that he input in the email adress field.

what wil be the code to input that email adress in header bcc.

i m not a programmer just got that script for someone.

ya i wil definately go for programing soon. but at this time just want to clarify that that adding one more
$from in the header wil add one from email address in the header related to who has send the email.
but i need to have one more $to because i need to send 2 separate emails, one to the client who require information and the second to the visitor who fills information in form

just want to clarify. confusing between $from and $to

bcc: blind carbon copy
cc and bcc

Or you can seperate "to"s with commas, or you can call mail again with a different "to." Or you can even add a "to: $email" line to your $header variable.

Right after the mail function call you already have in the code, just put another one in:

mail($Visitor_E-mail_Id,$subject,$message,$headers);

That'll send a duplicate message to the person who filled in the form. Like bretticus said though, be wary of email injection, it's far too easy to be caught short by that one. On that side, I've written a fairly comprehensive function in PHP that can be used to validate form fields. The code is a little on the large side to post and explain here, but it's all detailed on my site http://ashleysheridan.co.uk/coding_php_validation.php

thanks for the reply. when i add this code
mail($Visitor_E-mail_Id,$subject,$message,$headers);
then this code send a duplicate mail to the visitor.

but i want to replace the "$subject" of the email with "confirmation email" that is sent to visitor and add one line message that "we have received your information".

actually there is a different "$subject" when it goes to my client. i mean the subject of the email should contain words "confirmation email".
