Need help getting started

Hello all,

This is my first post here. I am totally new to php. I have been studying html a lot lately as I was told that it was a prerequisite to learning php.

So now I am here now.

What book or course is there that can explain everything from the ground up with php?

I have seen that there is PHP4 and and PHP5 books at Barnes and Nobles. Are they different or is 5 just the latest of PHP standards?

Is there a primer here on phpbuilder?

I am needing to know the basics of PHP as I am an internet marketer and I am seeing that it's becoming a necessity to learning php.

Please advise.

PHP4 is dead and finally starting to be buried, and PHP6 is on the near horizon, so you definitely want to focus on PHP5.

There are many book recommendations on this forum you can find with a little searching.
