[RESOLVED] adding comments on the fly

I have a file named comments.php.
Can someone please tell me how I can append the contents of that file on the fly in every php located in a folder and subfolder?

Here is the scenario. When someone clicks on download, I move a folder and all it's subfolder to a temporary directory and I zipped or tar it on the fly, then deliver it thru the browser.

Before zipping it, I would like to add the contents of that file right below the <?php. in every single php like they do in most commercial script.

Here is the content of the dynamic file that I wish to append

1. Construct new comment in a string.

2. Use [man]glob/man to find php files (assuming they all have a common extension.

3. Use [man]file_get_contents/man to read the file.

4. Use [man]preg_replace[/man]('/<\?php/', "<?php\n".$new_comment, $file_contents, 1) to insert the comment into the file content (preg_replace, because it has the fourth "limit" parameter)

5. Use [man]file_put_contents[/man] to write the result back to the file.

glob()? I learned someting new today.
I managed to do it with

$ext = substr("$dest/$entry", strrpos("$dest/$entry", '.') + 1);
if($ext == 'php')
{
....

}
