I currently run a site that posts to another server (TX to NY) running a MySQL box. Recently we've started getting larger volume on the server and I've noticed my requests are taking an extremely long time to post to this box. I've had issues with PHP and multiple MySQL connections before, so I only keep one open on the site. Then, when I need to post to this box, I'll open the connection, post my record, and close the connection.
For example, if someone places an order on the site we may have to post anywhere from 100 - 100,000 MySQL records. I've been looping through the results posting one at a time, but as I mentioned its taking forever to run - in some cases over 8 hours. I was wondering if someone had large volume experience before that could help point me in the right direction with this. Thanks!!
