Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING

Hey,

Probably something really simple but i cant seem to get inserting data into MYSQL through PHP to work.

I get the error "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /homepages/36/d249914499/htdocs/admin/add.php on line 54"

Line 54 is the line starting with $query =

The problem is here ("NULL",

remove the two " around NULL

You need to either escape the quotes in your string with a backslash:

$str = "This string has \"quotes\" in it";

OR you should use single quotes instead of double quotes in certain spots:

$query = 'INSERT INTO events (id, name, tag, host, type, desc, date1, date2, location, phone, mail) VALUES
    ("NULL"' . ", '".$name."', '".$tag."', '".$host."', '".$type."', '".$desc."', '".$date1."', '".$date2."', '".$location."', '".$phone."', '".$mail."')";
