How to track Code Change

hai every one,

is there a way to see date and line in file since last change just like change log.

i just learning php cos i'm afraid forget what i have done, i often make copy of file to make backup, and than you now another problem, when i try to find out the last file i think the best i forget what i have done to them.

i want to setup something like http://trac.wordpress.org/ or similar, currently using windows xp and xampp

Use a version control system. Popular open source centralised version control systems include CVS and Subversion, while their distributed version control system counterparts include Bazaar, Git and Mercurial. What you are asking for is just one part of the functionality that they offer (keeping track of a log of what you have done and viewing the difference between files saved at different points in time).
