Newbee has simple question about PHP

Hey guys,

Im brand spanking new to mySQL and PHP. I know small basics enough to get me up and running, but I am stumped on a task that I am wanting to do.

mySQL is running flawlessly on my server, the only thing is, I have no idea about PHP. I am reading alot on the internet and I will be purchasing a book as soon as I get off work, but my boss wants me to have the project done ASAP.

Basically here is what I am needing to do. I have a MS Excel spreadsheet that calculates data for me, for my customer database. I found a nifty program online that converts my spreadsheet over to a SQL file. That went pretty smooth getting it over to mySQL, only thing I am wandering is how do I make a basic PHP page for this spreadsheet so that I can access it and modify it from my webpage. Anyone know of a simple editor until I can learn PHP alittle better? Or what I need to do?

Possibly the simplest/quickest thing to do, though not very user friendly, would be to use phpMyAdmin to edit DB table records. You could set up a DB user who only has select, update, and delete privileges on that DB/table, so that whoever is editing the data cannot accidentally (or on purpose) do things like dropping the database or messing around with other tables. That could at least give you something to work with while working on finding or making a slicker, more user-friendly solution.
