Date-time conversion help required

Hello friends,
I am having timestamp coming from server in yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ss.xxxZ(e.g. 2008-09-06T06:35:30.867Z). Actually which date-time format is this?

I want to convert this format to YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS format and vice-versa means reverting this to previous format. How can I do this? Please help me. Thanks in advance.

if your database column is of the type 'datetime', either use the MySQL function: DATE_FORMAT or, even better (because it's more flexible in your php code) use the MySQL Function: UNIX_TIMESTAMP to return a timestamp that you can pass to the php date function.

You said you have a timestamp column where you are getting the funky formatting from. I assume it's a real timestamp column (column is of type Timestamp)? The function documentation you have been given has all the information you need to format dates coming out of the database. Vice-versa, you can use the php date function to convert back to YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS format when you insert the data back to the timestamp column in your database. In other words, you shouldn't have to format your date as yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ss.xxxZ to put it back in the database.
