Query a database and display information in a table

I have a database filled with company contact information. I would like my site visitors to be able to click on a state on a map of the us which i have coded and ready to go. Lets say they click on Illinois it sends them to illinois.php.

I am looking for a php code to place on illinois.php that checks the my database for all listings for the state of Illinois (IL).

Information you might need to help

Database name: zipcode
Table data is in: station
Table entry : state

I am looking at placing the information in a table of 3 records wide by however many tall.

The contact information would look like this:

Company Name
Street Address
City, State zipcode
Phone Number

If there is anything else that would help I will be watching the forums all day.

So then run a query on the database using [man]mysql_query/man to select all those entries from station where state is equal to "IL" (or "Illinois" if you're using the full state name).

Then just put the results into an array using [man]mysql_fetch_array/man and loop over it and display the results.

I am completely lost when it comes to mysql and php the only reason I am resulting to this is so that i do not have to use 50 different txt files.

Okay, so take 30 minutes and read the MySQL developer manual on select statements. Come up with something, and show us some code. We'll point out where you're going wrong (if at all). If you want a free-lance developer, go to a different site, we don't do that here.

Do some research for a little bit, and come back with some code examples of what you've tried (or are going to try). We'll point you in the right direction if needed.
