[RESOLVED] UPDATEing but percentage

Hi All

i currently have a query that updates the pricing by amounts ...

$amount="10.00"
$query="UPDATE pricing SET price  = price+ '$amount' ";

but i would like to update the price by percentage ..

$amount="10%"
$query="UPDATE pricing SET price  = price+ '$amount' ";

the query above doesnt work could anyone correct the mistake plz so i can update by a percent.

You can SET price = price * 1.1, or something along those lines.
