PHP script to display a page once-only

I need a bit of code that will redirect visitors to my disclamer page the first time they visit the webpage, i want them to agree to the conditions to continue but once done that i do not want that page to ever show for that visitor again, so probally using cookies or something, i would also like the cookie to include an id or something so if i change conditions they will need to re-agree to the new ones. Thanks

A cookie doesn't work, because people flush their cookies from time to time. Once they do, they'll get the disclaimer page back. You'd be better off maintaining a record on your server, via database, or a series of file placeholders, to keep track of who has seen your disclaimer page or not. Obviously, a database would be a more elegant solution...

thanks for your reply but im still in the dark, how do i use the database ? i dont want people to need to be logged in, i guess if they clear cookies then thats their problem isn't it, they get the message everytime.

If you don't want to deal with login hassles, then I guess you'll need to do cookies instead. As far as how to set/retrieve cookies, here's a quick tutorial on it...
