anyone? im still looking for something like this

I don't off-hand know of anything, though I'll bet it would not be too difficult to make Bugzilla do the job, even though it's original purpose is for software repair.

Any "trouble ticket" type of software would be able to do this. Something like Triangle Solutions' PHPSupport Ticket or OneOrZero would probably work. It comes with extra frills, but if you're going to limit your scope, then you need to either develop it yourself, or find someone who will.

Thanks, I'll give that a try

no still hunting for a basic CRM that only does computer repair tracking such as a section for computers inshop, pending, priority, etc.. wouldn't mind a few extras, but basicly a way for techs to track computer repair like whos working on a computer, whats the status, etc..
been searching for awhile with no luck 🙁

                Check out www.redmine.org

It's Ruby on Rails based, but it is extremely flexible and may suit your needs.

                    No, still looking

what do most computer repair shops use to track inhouse computer repair?
                    besides word or excell

                    inshop: 2

                    [view] joe bloe - priority: Y Date:2/4/10
                    [view] joe moe - priority: N Date:2/4/10

                    Priority: 0

                    Pending: 0

                    Ready: 0

                    Pickedup: 0

Anything at all like that? there has got to be something close to this.

If that's all you're looking for, almost any "trouble ticket" software would suffice. Something like Redmine (Ruby) or Trac (Perl) or even PHPSupportTickets (PHP). They don't have a specific purpose, other than a ticket software.

In your case, a ticket would be a work request. You can assign each a priority, a specific user to do the work, timers to see how long the work took, percent complete, track history of comments, attach files, etc., etc.

If what you describe above is all you need, then the items I mentioned above (in order of preference) will work. Each ticket can be assigned to a user, each ticket can have a priority, and each ticket can have a due date. All of them can be visible in a grid view. You can even get graphs of how work has progressed and such.

Take a look at the three I mentioned. They are some pretty-good products. I really recommend Redmine. We use it at work and it gets hit hard. Haven't had a problem with it yet. I used to use Trac, but it doesn't support multiple projects (or didn't when I last used it). Neither are PHP-based solutions, but would seem to suffice.

well, not looking for a ticket software, this is more for tracking for internal use only, I'll pm you with the link to what i have now, its ok but we have problems with it not working right. perhaps i could get someone to look and clean up the code so it doesnt have problems.

Randydg, but it seems exactly like what you're looking for. You want to track when a request for work comes in (e.g. a support ticket) then be able to track who it's assigned to, how much work has been done on it, and what status it has, priority of it, and so on.

All of the initial items you asked for in your initial post is possible in Redmine or even Trac. If you want it for internal use, you can lock Redmine down to only authenticated users, and even put it back behind an internal firewall so you have to be at the shop in order to actually see and work on the orders.

Does it need to be PHP based? You could try using this repair tracking application -trailblazer.
Its custom built for PC and laptop repair tracking.

May want to check out pcrepairtracker.com

We are loving it! Very reasonable price. Send Luke an email (address is on their site) and he'll hook you up with a demo login. It didn't take us long before we knew this was exactly what we were looking for. Best of all he continues to update with new features! It gets better and better with every release! Let us know what you think.

Oh yeah, I do not work for them (incase you were wondering). I work at a local PC repair shop, in Eastern NC (universitypccare.com).
