[RESOLVED] Warning is confusing me can you help

I'm getting the following warning on the error log on my online server and I don't understand why. The script that it references works perfectly and I can not get it to produce this warning for me. What would cause this??

Pretty self explanatory. Just means that the script can't use [man]mysql_connect/man to connect to the server. Usually if you can't connect, the script should give you a warning about the database not being connected.

Not sure of a real way to combat the issue, other than just trying again later.

I get that it is not connecting in this case.

What I don't understand is WHY?

I know that the script does connect and function properly retrieving values from the database.

What I want to know is What would cause it to not connect now and then? I rather doubt the server is flipping a coin and suddenly deciding not to connect me.

Sorry I always like to know the WHY part.

I'm not sure of the internals of how php actually uses the msyql socket, but my guess is the socket becomes overloaded periodically (from unclosed connections, etc.) and eventually that load goes down so your script can connect. Don't quote me on that though, as I'm not 100% sure.
