Mysql error #2003 and Java

Hello there. I'm using a WAMP dev. system. I just got a mysql error saying "Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost'." The only thing I can think that is different since it was working is the fact that I upgraded/installed Java. Before I go and start from absolute scratch I was wanting to know if somehow there is some Java thing that is messing up my Wamp/Mysql.

Is the MySQL server running? You can try a quick check by clicking the WAMP system tray icon and selecting the "MySQL -> MySQL Console" option and see if it lets you connect or else outputs any useful error info.
