Can Someone walk me through this please...

I have been trying (for ages) to implement a postcode search facility to my site.

I am trying to follow the instructions here

I am getting myself lost with it all though and could do with some advise...

I have the database set up and all the fields are poulated. I also have a table with the "stores" locations in.

How do I go about creating the search form to connect to the php page described in the tutorial??

I have moderate knowledge of PHP, Mysql and am fluent enough in Html.

I just need a basic starting point to get me going!

You must do 2 insert form, post them into a php program,
in the tutorial the table name is diffferent from the real table structure.

Now for he next part of my question...

if you look at the demo link on the blogs page www.wroes.co.uk/about/stores.php

This is what i am trying to achieve...

I have a table called members and in there is a field called "postcode"

what I want the script to do is when a user enters their post code, the script searches my members data base and returns and members within a cartain radius - like in the demo.

Can anyone explain what my next step would be in doing this please.

You could update the program i give you, but the second values of logitude and latitude comes from database not from the form.

Then you create a while , which count the distance from the two pars of value.
Then use an (array) sort command to take them into DESC order.
php.net you can find an example of that.

So its not big deal.

What you need is:
- fetch data from database
-Run the distance function to get the distance
-Sort the array you create
-print the results.
-use the source code of that site to make a google.map object 🙂

actually, I've just noticed you example always returns 3525 miles no matter which post code is entered...?

The code seemed to be good, i'll check that it is real .
