Help multiple sites one database?

Is it possible to do this? And if so can anyone show me a sample? I would really appreciate the response.

I have the following websites:

1)http://www.test.com
2)http://www.test2.com
3)http://www.test3.com

All of them are basically the same website but for a different city. They all accept registrations for advertising, but if say someone on site 1 wants to advertise on site 2 as well but only register once, how can i have site 2 check the database for site one and says yes they selected site 2 as well so show their advertisement?

Basically you would do something like this:

user                 user_site               site
id                   userid                  id
                     siteid

For each site the user choose you store one row in user_site. In other words a many-to-many relationship between user and site.

sorry man you lost me can you explain a little clearer. I'm sorry but this is totall new to me for the multiple site thing. Completely lost.

You have the users table and a site_holder table and a connected sites table. You store the site_id and user_id in the site_holder table to make that connection you want.

And when you select the user from the database, you will get those sites list with this SQL:

SELECT *
FROM (site_holder LEFT JOIN sites ON site_holder.site_id = sites.site_id) LEFT JOIN user ON site_holder.user_id = user.user_id;

To understand this I think that you should read this article about database normalization. It explains what happens and, above all, why you should do it with 3 tables.
