compiling php 5.2.6

Hi,

I am new to this forum.

I am tring to compile php 5.2.6 for an arm processor. Not matter what I do, I don't seem to get it to make the excutable. right I have the followings in the bin directory:
php-cgi.dSYM, php.dSYM, php-config, phpize, pecl, peardev and pear, but I don't have php-config-5.2.6 and php-5.2.6. I am pretty new to this since I never compile a php from source, could someone please tell me how I can get it right?

What os are you on? The configure command can get pretty long, since you have to point to the apache directory in the options, and the directory where mysql is installed. Are you sure you can't get php from a testing repository if you are on linux? Sometimes you have to add a testing repository like in centos I was able to get php 5.2.6 by going here http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/Repositories

Hi adaykin, thanks for the reply. I don't know if the mod allows me to say this in tthe forum. I am trying to compile php to work with lighttpd I installed on my jailbroken iPhone 3G. So basically it is a FreeBSD unix OS. After the compilation, shouldn't I have a libphp5.so or something like that?

In case you worder why it's because I would like to be able to write codes without lugging around my MacBook. 😉

I would think it would be pretty tough to write code on the iPhone.

I wasn't able to find any libphp5.so, but there are files like xmlrpc.so, mysql.so, zip.so, etc., so basically all the extensions for php.
