pop-up forms

Hi,

I am continuing to build an application, but on the admin page I have several forms that allow the user to create a new gallery, add a user and a couple of other things.

What I would like to do is have links for these options, and then a pop-up box/layer opens with a form in which can be completed and then this can be completed by the user. The action is completed, and the layer/pop-up box is automatically closed.

I'm having another mental block as to how best approach this.

I thought a pop-up box, which completes the form-action, but I don't know how to self close a pop-up box.

Which approach would be best? Layer or pop up box?

Any ideas anyone?

there are no popup forms in php, in java script there are millions

(Personally, I found Modalbox easy enough to use that I didn't exhaustively examine all the possibilities.)
