Need help with UPDATE again!

Okay,

I have a column with the names of image files:

12345a.jpg
12345b.jpg
12345c.jpg , and so on.

What I need to do is to rename the files like this:

a.jpg
b.jpg
c.jpg

What is the best way to do this?

Thanks guys.. I guess I should of been more specific. Not all the filenames begin as 12345.

I used the following trick... it works ok and it works pretty quick:

UPDATE listing_images SET filename=substr(filename, -5)

Let me know if this is efficient or if I could done it a better way. Thanks!

It should be more efficient than running SQL statements in a loop as in coldwerturkey's example.
