phpmyadmin gets confused with Firefox tabs - any ideas

I use phpmyadmin a lot and I've been noticing how it gets confused with Firefox tabs - its a pita

frequently it opens a clicked db table in a new tab and then 'loses' the side bar - it shouldn't even open the new tab

today I have two local databases and I am copying/moving tables from one to the other ..
so I tried two windows of Firefox (not tabs) instead - but you click on a table in window '1' and window '2' then jumps to the table - but I didnt ask it to change window '2'

plan 'b' is to use IE as one view and FF as the other - but this is ridiculous - any ideas?
presumably its running a session and does not understand about multiple views.

(should this be in 'misc tools' ?)

damn I still have this problem of phpmyadmin opening a new tab when I want to view a table instead of staying in same window/tab

I just did a google search and my thread of six months ago shows up

why is it only happening to me?
and it was fine for years before this...
only fix is to quit Firefox but even that doesnt always work and I need to restart PC - which takes far too long

Use MySQL GUI tools instead. Much better, and easier to deal with multiple connections.

As for the firefox, issue.... the only thing I can think of is a stuck key (like sticky keys) which happens to be the control key which makes your link-clicks open in new tabs (windows). I've never had this problem; however, I usually use the gui tools as they're faster and easier to use.

but I will still encounter phpMyAdmin on hosts and sites I manage

it cant be my keyboard - doesnt happen anywhere else

php myadmin is built with framesets - remember them?
and the left bar acts as the nav to the central block - but gets confused

I guess I could upgrade the phpMyadmin version and see if that helps
