SQL query help

Hello,

I have a form where someone can check off a number of "features"... the sql query then should go and return all matches (everyone who has all of the checked features)... hows is the best way to handle this?

$sql="SELECT name FROM people WHERE feature IN (3,5,7,44,2,77)";

The above will return names from people that have at least one of the features... however, i need the names returned to have ALL of the features inside the brackets.

Ideas?

you have:

$sql="SELECT name FROM people WHERE feature IN (3,5,7,44,2,77)";

i suggest:

$sql="SELECT name FROM people WHERE feature = 3 AND 5 AND 7 AND 44 AND 2 AND 77";

I tried that, however it also doesn't return matched that have all the features. It returns all 'names' that have a feature of '3' and '55' and '32', etc. but not all three features.

i see. you could try two things then:

$sql = "SELECT name FROM db WHERE features = (1 and 2 and 3)";

and then as lame as it is

$sql = "SELECT name FROM db WHERE features = 1 and features = 2 and features = 3";
