Hi all,
I am trying to write a small script taht will send HTML email.
What I have so far sends the email which gets delivered to my mailbox, but the content is in plain text.
The delivered email looks like this
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="PHP-alt-e0365048fc56898692e464256e0d5f9b"Return-Path: <accounts@domain.com>
--PHP-alt-e0365048fc56898692e464256e0d5f9b
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
$message .= "<html>";
$message .= "
<head>
<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html;charset=utf-8\">
<title>Contact from Site</title>
</head>
<body>
Hello World!!!
This is simple text email message.
--PHP-alt-e0365048fc56898692e464256e0d5f9b
Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
<h2>Hello World!</h2>
<p>This is something with <b>HTML</b> formatting.</p> </body>
--PHP-alt-e0365048fc56898692e464256e0d5f9b--
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Can anyone please advise:
//define the receiver of the email
$to = $_GET['msgemail'];
//define the subject of the email
$subject = "Activation" ;
//create a boundary string. It must be unique
//so we use the MD5 algorithm to generate a random hash
$random_hash = md5(date('r', time()));
//define the headers we want passed. Note that they are separated with \r\n
$headers = "From: accounts" . "<accounts@domain.com.\r\n";
//add boundary string and mime type specification
$headers .= "\r\nContent-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary=\"PHP-alt-".$random_hash."\"";
$headers .= "Return-Path: " . "<accounts@domain.com>\r\n";
//define the body of the message.
ob_start(); //Turn on output buffering
?>
--PHP-alt-<?php echo $random_hash; ?>
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
$message .= "<html>";
$message .= "
<head>
<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html;charset=utf-8\">
<title>Contact from Site</title>
</head>
<body>
