I had this problem on CS3 and now I have it again on CS4! Whenever I save a file with dependents DW has to go through each dependent and make sure the file i have on my computer is the same as on the server and if it's not it prompts me to upload it (or sometimes just uploads it without warning me and writes over something and screws me all up). I have looked through many websites for an answer to this and all I have found was to go into Edit>Preferences>Site and check both the "Dependent files" boxes. I did this, opened a file including dependents, it prompted me asking if I wanted to get dependents, i clicked "don't ask again", and click no. Then I did some editing on the page and tried to save it. Now instead of getting another prompt as i'm pretty sure I should have, i just watched the details scroll by as about 20 different dependent files were checked against the server! I went back into settings and the Prompt on GET was unchecked (as would be expected) and the Prompt on PUT was still checked!

What do i do?! This is causing major issues.

Thanks in advance!

    i clicked "don't ask again"

why would you expect to get a prompt after instructing DW to not prompt you again??? Either never choose the "don't ask again" option so you get prompted each and every time, or choose "do not upload dependent files..." + "never ask again" (or whatever it says) and it won't.

I instructed it not to GET the dependent files however it still posts them and there is still a check mark next to the ask before Put.

I had this with CS3 when me and my collegue were developing the same web app.
I contacted Adobe and they said this is not possible behievour. I was ripping my hair out with this issue too. Sorry i cannot explain to you why this happens, but in the mean time if i do find a solution i will let you know.

        Thanks
        Nick
