ftp_size (getting ftp directory size)

hey anyone know on how to get the size of a folder?

I found this function on php.net

function getRecDirSize ($connection, $dir){
        $temp = ftp_rawlist ($connection, "-alR $dir");
        foreach ($temp as $file){

it returns 6148 in what though? bytes? kilobytes ? the directory at the moment is 924KB.

I would expect bytes; however, you can set that to be returned to what you want depending upon the flag you specify.

You could always try adding the "h" command to see if it gives you a size like 4.0k. But I'm thinking it's in bytes.
