How php handle multiple submit buttons in a single form?

Hi

I have a form in a php file.

There are 3 sections:
Section 1:
choose drop down menu and press 1st submit button

Section 2:
The selected value will appear and there are text box and 2nd submit button

Section 3:
The submit button will insert the data got from section 1 and 2 and insert into MySQL DB.

But, the js in section 1 and 2 did not work and I cannot run section 3 button.

Does php support multiple submit buttons in a form?

if the first 2 parts of the form are all happening client-side via js then just use <input type="button"> tags instead of submit buttons.
