php.ini file is not loaded

Hello,

I have installed php5.2.6 apache 2.2 in Windows vista 32. I got them working, but phpinfo() shows that configuration file loaded is none. It shows path to conf file as c:/Windows. Any changes to php.ini file is not reflected. I have in my httpd.conf file PHPiniDir c:/php and put php.ini file in apapche root dir and in c:/Windows and restarted the server and computer itself. Set environment variable phprc with value c:/php and path variable c:/php. All of this did not help.

Why don't you just use WAMP and save yourself all the configuration troubles.

Should I remove current installlations of php apache and mysql?

I'd remove it, but I doubt it'd interfere with WAMP.
