When a script takes a really long time to respond

I got a script which takes a long time to finish, the thing is, when it finishes instead of showing me my cute "i fiinished" letter it sends me a 500 internal server error, sometimes it send me the error 500 without finishing, i know this because it keeps working on the DB

Is there a way to make the script flush things to screen ? to avoid this 500 ?

no one can help you with out seeing the script.

It all depends on how the server is setup.
Have a look at www.php.net/flush

If the script is taking a long time to process information, you might need to break it up into manageable chunks.
