Printing pages

Hi guys,

Not sure if PHP can help me with this but this is the best community I know of so am hoping if not, then at least someone can point me in the right direction.

I have an app with a little print button on it. When the user clicks on it a little printable version pops up and then the browser asks which printer the user would like to send it to!

What I was wondering was is there a way I can get it to automatically send the printout to the computers default printer without having to prompt the user to select a printer, I know it seems small but I am actually getting complaints about this!

I don't believe you can, and I'm hoping there is no way. Can you imagine what malicious users could do to your printer ink costs if they could cause things to print from a web page without your consent?

There must be a way.... perhaps java - you can get the print dialog to come up, and if you only have one printer then it will automatically print, though if you have multiple printers then it wants to know which one!
