[RESOLVED] count months between two dates

How do i find month difference between two dates with php? (from date:2006-6-7 and to date 2008-12-12)I would like to know how many months between these dates??

So how many months are there between 2006-06-07 and 2008-12-12? 30, 31, or 32?

My searching the forums turned up http://www.phpbuilder.com/board/showthread.php?t=10266664 but all you're interested in is counting - subtract the month in one date from the month in the other, and add 12 times the difference in the years. (12-6)+12*(2008-2006) = 30. Same way you'd do it if you were doing it yourself.

Since Weedpacket's solution was a purely mathematical approach, yes; the laws of mathematics used here don't break down for larger values.

At least not until you overflow the 32-bit integer limit, but that would be a lot of months. 😉
