I have Apache 2.x on a old Win 2000 machine and I would like to know what settings I can change to improve performance on the older machine (have it use less ram and cpu). This machine is for testing purposes only and its at work, so I cant upgrade it, I'm lucky to have a test machine at work, before we didnt have one until I asked for it.

Thanks.

You should have the same settings on the test machine as you have on the production server. Otherwise you can't be sure that something that works on the test machine will work in production as well. In fact you should use the same OS and versions of all the programs as well.

The only thing that may differ is that the test server may have less memory (and settings for less memory), slower CPU and less space on the hard drive.

I think you should have same settings and dont use modules you dont need to save memory...
