Visited links in IE

'ello all.

Does anyone know anything about what would cause links to be seen by IE as new, when they are visited? This only happens on page reload. FF works fine.

I am trying to use the default browser a:visited CSS selector to show an image on visited links. IE doesn't want to play with me.

If anything changes in the query string values, then the link would be considered new. E.g.: these are two different links:

http://www.example.com/index.php?id=1
http://www.example.com/index.php?id=2

Right, but nothing in the URL changes.

Got me stumped then, unless IE truncates URLs longer than X number of characters when it saves them in its "visited" cache?

Seems that the link doesn't become an issue until the first ampersand.

Still trying to figure out a way around it.
