phpMyAdmin prob, cannot copy tables anymore for some reason >>

Using phpMyAdmin for my mySql db which I've used for years when making a backup of a table I used to go to "Operations" - "Copy table to", "Structure and Data", make a name for the new table and voila job done.

Now however whenever I try copying a table I get an error message like:

#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '209DEFAULT CHARSET = latin1' at line 14

Any ideas what the problem could be? I haven't changed any settings so I'm puzzled as why this no longer works when its worked 100s of times for me in the past.

Any ideas?!

This is probably a bug in the version of phpMyAdmin that you are using. You might attempt to upgrade. However, since this problem doesn't have anything to do with your programming, I think your post will get more mileage over at the phpMyAdmin Help Forum.

Thanks mate, yeah already tried that forum, no replies yet!

I'm on phpmyadmin 2.6.1 or something, I wanted to upgrade to a later one but it requires php 5 and my server is still on php 4.1 something so I'm wondering if I'm stuck.

Do you think something has become corrupted? wonder if I should re-install the same version of phpmyadmin. Without sounding thick, if i delete all the phpMyadmin files, it wont actually delete the mysql tables themselves will it?

Its not just one table that wont copy, even tiny little test tables wont copy, I can export, rename, but not copy, ridiculous ain't it?
