newbie x 100, need some help..forms..variables

Alright so i am new to this forum and it looks like a great place for me to learn some php.

This is what i want to do :

I have a website ( http://www.street-steeze.com ) on the main page you will see bike check. Rite now the way i change the title, picture and link is by Variables that are defined in an external file. ( example <?php echo $bike ?> and in the external file it defines the link to the photo.

My Admins do not have access to the php so i want to make a private page with 3 forms that would change the variables once submitted.

I really have no clue how to do this but i really want to learn!

why don't you make a database table for the bikes,
and use a date_time field to store the newest in this table,
then visible the latest rows.

SELECT * FROM bikes ORDER BY bike_id DESC LIMIT 1

OR another SELECT

SELECT * FROM bikes ORDER BY date_time DESC LIMIT 1

how this sounds ?

And your admins could fill this.

sorry i made a mistake in the first post, my admins don't have access to the ftp or databases, i don't thin this affects your suggestions tho?

but are you saying the best thing to do is make a database table for the 3 fields? and i could use a form to change the database value?

I am still learning this stuff so do not know much about databases

i think your site using database to store the (forum) users and ADMINS,
you can start with this line.
check a user before you change these 3 fields in a database table or in a file
