Dynamic Page Selection

I am trying to find an easy way to identify what page is being requested.

I have a single page called index.php

There are various URL's that are called by using $_Get
eg.
index.php?page=login
index.php?page=logout
index.php?page=contact
index.php?page=story
index.php?page=news

My code is along the lines of

if (isset($_GET['page'])) {
    if ($_GET['page'] == "logout") {
        // Run Logout Function
    } elseif ($_GET['page'] == "login") {
        // Run Login Function
    } elseif ($_GET['page'] == "news") {
        // Run News Function
    } 
} else {
    // Run Index (Homepage) Function
}

If someone types www.domain.com/index.php?page=news then the news page is found and displayed.
If someone types www.domain.com/index.php then the homepage Function is run and displayed.
Now this works fine when there is a ?page=xxxxx that matches my code and if there is no ?page=xxxx ie(www.domain.com/index.php) but what I need help with is how to detect other strings that come after www.domain.com/index.php?

For example if someone types
www.domain.com/index.php?page=
www.domain.com/index.php?action=
www.domain.com/index.php?page=ne

Thanks djjjozsi but I forget to type part of my posting, it should of read

For example if someone types
www.domain.com/index.php?page=
www.domain.com/index.php?action=
www.domain.com/index.php?page=ne

Then how do I trap these and issue a Page not found message etc.

if you type:

www.domain.com/index.php?page=

then default.php will included.
if you type:

www.domain.com/index.php?action=

then default.php will included.
but, you can create double variables.

www.domain.com/index.php?page=news&action=list

And in news.php there is another switch case/ IF check if action has set.
action has set then list the news...

How could I trap anything if there is a ? in the URL, so I can future proof the code
